It also allows the parties to control the outcome of their case and, in effect, the rest of their lives. Keep in mind that Mediation is voluntary and non-binding. The court must eventually approve all agreements for them to become binding. During your mediation, the attorney is acting as a neutral mediator and not your individual divorce attorney.
